This is not a JavaScript 101 for absolute beginners.
This is however a workshop for React beginners. If you are already confident with the below notions, we encourage you to check "React Hack Tokyo (https://www.meetup.com/React-Hack-Tokyo)".
This workshop was originally mainly aimed at our bootcamp students but we decided to open a few seats to the community. Come and experience Le Wagon from the inside!
In 2013, Facebook released a new JavaScript framework which would soon be adopted by loads of companies to build complex Front-End web applications. React is now mature, a great community quickly formed and produced by-products and extension like Redux or React Native.
This free workshop aims at showcasing the basics of React and discuss when choosing it the most relevant.
We will be introducing the following notions:
• React introduction
• Create React App
• JSX Syntax
• Properties
• State
• Events
All of this while making a simple Airbnb-like interactive page or an easy version of Instagram.
Pre-requisite
• You'll need to know the basics of ES6 (https://medium.com/sons-of-javascript/javascript-an-introduction-to-es6-1819d0d89a0f) before coming, including: arrow functions, import/export, classes...
• Bring your laptop!
