Description

Shopify is a global commerce platform enabling over half a million entrepreneurs to power their online stores, and their brick and mortar locations. Third party commerce apps play a crucial role in the success of merchants by extending the core Shopify product. Several developers worldwide have built successful businesses based around commerce apps built for Shopify merchants.

The architecture of Shopify is based on Ruby on Rails, framework learned and heavily used by Le Wagon students. Several of Le Wagon graduates are now working full-time on Shopify applications development.

Come learn why Shopify relies on developers to power this amazing ecosystem of entrepreneurship and why the opportunity is ripe for developers in Japan to build in-demand commerce apps.

This talk will include a demonstration on how to get started building Shopify apps, key insights into what apps Japanese merchants are looking for developers to build, and how to successfully market your app in the Shopify App Store.

Agenda

• 7:00 pm - Doors open
• 7:30 pm - Talk and Q&A by Lanie
• 8:30 pm - Networking session
