In this workshop we’ll explore working with Web APIs. We’ll cover what Web APIs are, why they’re useful, how to use them, and how to integrate external Web APIs into a Ruby on Rails application. Along the way, we’ll explore various tools, techniques, and Ruby libraries that are useful for working with Web APIs. We’ll then build a small Rails app that takes some form input and uses that to send an SMS message via the Vonage SMS API.
Ruby and Rails installed on your machine.
🚀 About Vonage 🚀
Vonage has everything you need to build connected applications with our APIs for SMS, Voice, Video, Verify and more. Whether you want to make and receive phone calls with code, reach users by the messaging platforms they prefer or ensure that users provide the correct contact details, we’ve got you covered. You can also easily integrate with social chat apps such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Viber, or build in-app voice and messaging experience on mobile and web.
