Accelerators play an important role in startup communities throughout Japan and beyond. Their programs lasting several months help cohorts of startups with networking opportunities, mentorship, venture funding and most of all strategic guidance. However, most of Japan’s accelerators are focused on supporting ventures run by Japanese entrepreneurs and only few provide assistance to foreign founders.
For this panel discussion, we are happy to welcome representatives from the most foreigner-friendly accelerator programs in Japan who will introduce their programs and explain how foreign founders can benefit from it.
This event is co-organized by Le Wagon Tokyo in partnership with Shibuya Welcome Service (https://shibuya-startup-support.jp/sws/), a government-backed initiative that helps foreign entrepreneurs obtain the essential residency status to establish their business in Japan and set up a legal entity.
Key points:
✔️ Accelerators and their role in startup communities
